The Ken Laidlaw Sportive 2010

Ken Laidlaw was born in Hawick in 1936. He competed in the 1961 Tour de France and became the first Scotsman to finish the gruelling event and gained the Stage 16 'Most agressive rider' award.
On Sunday August 22nd, 2010 his achievements were remembered for the third successive year when Hawick Cycling Club organised a tough 100 mile (160km) sportif taking in many hills and beauty spots across the Scottish Borders region with an accumulation of over 3000m of climbing.
This year the event was honoured by Ken Laidlaw returning to the town from the USA to lead off around 400 riders.
With two cameras we have mananged to capture images for the full 100 mile event at Note o' the Gate and The Swire and for the shorter event at Note o' the Gate and Shankend. Photos, and there are many, will be added as the week progresses so please keep looking back.
