Organised by the 63 Car Club, Elgin the rally began in the centre of the twon of Elgin with two stages around Cooper Park before moving out into the more traditional forest stages. The rally was won by David Bogie and Kevin Rae and seealed their third sccessive year as Scottish Champions. Their main challengers crashed off in stage 4 and so 2nd was won by Euan Thorburn/Paul Beaton from Mike Faulkner/Louise Sutherland in 3rd.
