Poplar Echoes

Culloden Viaduct, Inverness, Scotland.

Whilst the days of the steam train are long since dead, it is not difficult to imagine what a fabulous sight the old viaduct would have made with a steam train thundering across it billowing clouds of smoke. That lost nostalgia is tempered in a most delightful way by these wonderful soft and spindly Poplar trees echoing the brick arches through an early summer haze.
