Summit View Torridon

Liathach, Torridon, Scotland.

Some of the biggest mountains in Scotland are located in the impressive Torridon range in the North west of Scotland. It is undoubtedly a climbing mecca and I was fortunate enough to scale Tom Na Gruigach and gaze out toward the formidable shoulder of Liathach on the most magnificent winter morning. Loch Torridon is the cold grey loch on the right and the summit is over 3000 feet.

It's a lovely view and technically excellent, but it seems a bit cut off on the right... The Loch woud seem to be the 'primary' subject and it is only partially presented. One's eye is drawn to points of brightness and high contrast first, so my eye is drawn to the lower right, perhaps emphasizing where the Loch is cropped. A panorama would have been very satisfying. One interesting aspect of panoramas is that they can match the 160 degree wide human vision giving a more vivid "sense of being there".
