Winters Gown

Tom Na Gruigach, Torridon, Scotland.

The pink glow of reflected sunlight bounces off the underside of heavy laden snow clouds bathing the roof of Torridon in the softest of light. I am rarely completely awe struck but having spent the night in a blizzard in a tent on the summit of Tom na Gruigach and then waking to the first fingers of dawn painting a transformed land, well awe struck is a very apt description. The mountain you are seeing so beautifully lit is Beinn Alligin and is probably part of one of the finest high altitude walks in the UK.

F22 at 4 sec's 0.45 ND grad over sky cover to balance exposure differences and retain detail in the sky naturally. full exif

Ian, another great image ! (But doubt I would make the effort you did) My winter shots of the Jenne Farm in VT were at 10 below zero F but at least I left my OWN BED at home at 4am to get the shot!!!!

Great picture...cheesy description. You really did capture the light beautifully and props on being there and surviving the storm!
