Awe Struck

Stac pollaidh, Inverpolly Reserve, Scotland.

I rarely include people in my photography but in this case it serves two purposes the first being the sense of scale implied by the juxtaposition of human and landscape, the second reason, the fella obligingly sitting on this rock on the summit ridge of Stac pollaidh is my brother. It is fair to say that he was completely awe struck at the views. This was his first hill climbing, an hour to the top, a fairly gentle break in to a tremendous Scottish pastime. He tells me it won't be his last.

Thank you Stoyan very true alas my brother was less than comfortable sitting on the edge of a 1000 foot drop!! Frequent calls of will the light be right SOON were coming from Mr Braveheart.

If your brother was dressed as Rob Roy or Brave hearth this would be a perfect picture.

Hi folks. Although nobody has mentioned it yet I thought I would just clarify why the top of the mountains in the backdrop are cropped off. The answer is the lighting conditions, the sun was directly in front of this scene and I had to be extremely careful with lens shading to prevent any lens flare and a horribly burnt out sky. This was the best compromise.
