Lichen and Rocks

Ship Rock, Hopeman, Moray, Scotland.

Not the most colourful of coastal images but to me at least a very evocative one. The peach coloured stain of a sinking sun fighting to penetrate cloud cover that was simply not going to give way mixed with the sombre pale greens of the salt caked lichens and pock marked rocks. The two types of rock sandstone and schist add subtle colours to the land.

To call picking a favorite from this gallery "impossible" is a gross understatement. This is definitely one of my favs though. You're right, the subtle colorations here, so beautifully rendered by the medium format and velvia chrome...it's mesmerizing. So, so well done! Vote!
