My first ever trip to this remote lochan. I was keen to see it at first light and at sunset so had little choice other than to carry a tent, food and sleeping bag and for company my young son Ben. We went to sleep under starry skies on a breathlessly still evening with a delicious sunset glow on the mountains and awoke to temperatures of minus eight, frost, ice and the same gorgeous still conditions and arguably even more delicious light. My careful planning using ephemeris and weather apps paid off admirably and wild camping enabled shots that otherwise would have proved nigh on impossible.
