I was actually high up on the Quiraing when I noticed this fabulous light show begin shortly after sunrise not far from the village of Staffin. At one stage this immense beam of sunlight escaped the cloud cover and scanned its way across the Minch in front of Raasay like a search light. I realised that the scene lacked a sense of scale and it was then I noticed a small cottage nestled into a small spit of land so I included it in my composition lending the scene significantly more gravitas.
