Gneiss and Rough

Traigh Mhor, Harris, Scotland

Harris and Lewis are blessed with some of the oldest rocks on the planet and these just happen to have some pretty gorgeous patterning on them, Gneiss exists in quite large quantities on Traigh Mhor near the solitary rock outcrop. I waited for some suitably large wind driven waves to pound their way in across the stones under the smouldering blue glow of twilight and was delighted with the mixture of warmth and coolness evident.
