Sometimes you just know you are in for a weather thrashing. The sky alone was warning enough that I was at least going to get a good soaking, the tell tale trails of white showed that this monster was loaded with ice in the form of hailstones the size of peas. They hurt so I took this one shot, threw everything in a bag and made my tripod into an instant teepee slinging my jacket over the top and doing my best to conceal myself between the three legs. The noise of the hail hitting my pseudo tent skin was deafening, but at least I was protected from the worst of it, well, save for a few stinging welts on my arms.
