River Cannich Gold

Cannich, Highlands, Scotland

The foliage colour this autumn around the Glen Affric area was really quite stunning, none more so in fact than by the river Cannich just one glen along and probably considered its less well known neighbor. As the river reaches the foot of the glen its turbulent tumbling over rocks gives way to more placid slow moving zones and here the reflection of the larch and pine on the hills opposite generates some stunning colour. At a small gap in the river bank trees I saw this view of the dead tree opposite reflected in the river and was spellbound.
