At the very lowest of low tides at Cove Bay it is possible to see an array of barnacle covered rocks which appear to melt into the sand. They are beautifully sculpted by the tides and large enough to stand on and to me they look like the vertebrae of some enormous and long since extinct creature. It is as the tide returns and fills in the spaces between, that the wonderful rough texture of the stone can be exploited in surreal juxtaposition to the smooth silky flow of tidal water, compliments of a long exposure. Almost got stranded though.
