On a freezing cold morning near Kingussie and the old Ruthven Barracks I found these deep frosted old birch trees lining a snow filled country lane. I just managed to separate the tree which was slightly backlit from those surrounding it and made this sparkling shot that shouts Christmas and the festive season. Despite the intense cold it was a great pleasure to be out photographing these remarkable conditions.
