The sensuous colours of twilight rolled overhead above an an extremely low tide at Elgol, so low in fact that even the kelp beds at the foot of the rock ledges have become exposed. I confess it was lower than I had anticipated so initially I was mildly disappointed, but the art of photography is to adapt to the conditions you are given and not to get to hung up on the pre-meditated ideal. The rolling slop of a fairly static tide saw the long fronds of kelp unfurl and stretch in beguiling patterns and I knew then that I had to try to capture some of this liquid sense of movement.
