Stacked In My Favour

Old Man Of Storr, Skye, Scotland

I have shot the Old Man of Storr from a good many viewpoints but this is the first time from the path that leads to the valley behind the central stack. It is also the first time I have taken this shot which conveyed something of the mystery and atmosphere of this magnificent place. I waited until a rolling bank of fog descended on the tallest spire making it almost translucent and by character imperious. The odds at last appearing to be stacked in my favour.

Nice one Ian I like he way the mist is on three of the stacks leaving one clear giving a 3D effect .
