This tiny little lochan nestles between the mountains in Glen etive and is dimpled with islands of birch and rhodedendron in summer the islands turn pink and the scene is astonishing to look at assuming of course you can see the islands through the thick swarm of ferocious biting midges. Autumn is a kinder season for the photographer as the midges die off and the colours turn from green and magenta to pure gold with streaks of bacon red bracken.
