Like a broken tooth Duffus Castle sits on a green plinth of grass on open flat ground which permits photography with huge towering skies. I took this on a fine breezy day with cumulus clouds bubbling up with the castle slightly backlit which had the disadvantage of flare becoming a risk but also added gravitas to the clouds by virtue of being backlit. The culminating glory was the fortuitous appearance of a crop of yellow rape adding a gorgeous splash of vibrant colour.
