These are photographs of the Humane Society's former President's pets, Rascal the Siberian Husky, Mattie the mixed breed and four cats. Rascal was born on June 15th, 1995 and Mattie was adopted in October of 2004. Rascal has been in numerous television commercials for a pet supply company, the United Way of Calloway County, and a PetSafe commercial for the Humane Society. Rascal also won 1st place in a photo contest (Husky mowing on a Husky) for a pet wholesale supply company. She can also be seen as the mascot for the Humane Society's TV show "Humanely Speaking" that airs on channel 15 on Murray Electric's Cable TV. Mattie was awarded her Canine Good Citizen certificate from the American Kennel Club in April of 2005 and passed her Therapy Dog International test in May of 2005. Tom and Jennie dearly love them both. "Motor" the cat was adopted in October of 2003 when he showed up as a stray kitten. Mama Kitty was adopted as a stray but Jennie didn't know that Mama Kitty was pregnant. Shortly thereafter, Repo was born. Curtis was adopted as a kitten from an animal shelter in northern Kentucky. He turns 20 years old in September 2005 and is STILL a holy terror at the vet's office. Jennie actually has the scars to prove it!!! Camo Kitty was adopted in September of 2006. She is a mother to three feral kittens who live nearby in the woods around the High School. Camo's favorite game is to chase (and be chased) by Motor Kitty. They've made wonderful playmates. Teddi was adopted in August of '07 and seems to think that the other three cats are her playtoys. Teddi was found hanging around the feral cats at the high school and wasn't shy at all around people so Tom and Jennie gave her a forever home. Teddi loves to lay upside down in our lap and get petted. FOOTNOTE: Repo was buried on July 15, 2005. He is sorely missed as Jennie had raised him from a kitten. Repo lived a very happy ten years and brought much joy and good companionship to Jennie and Tom. Curtis passed away on October 16, 2006. Tom and Jennie had celebrated his 21st birthday just weeks before. Curtis was buried next to Repo. Rascal died in January of 2011 from old age and cancer.
