Auschwitz

Auschwitz (1940-1945), the biggest Nazi Concentration camp for prisoners of various nationalities, it was also a centre of extermination of European Jews during World War II. Pictures shown here were taken in summer 2003.

    Dear Cyndi,
    Thanks for your comments and visit to my photo galleries. I didn't take any photos of the gas chambers mainly because no photo-taking is allowed in the chambers.

    Your photos are strong, but as one other person commented you left out the saddest part, the gas chamber. People must never forget what happend there and through stories,phots etc... we as a nation, country, people can be sure that what those people went through will never happen again.     thanxxx very much for showing those pictures to the world .
    Me as a german look at those pictures again and again , remembering what happened there .
    if you look longer you might hear the screaming of the victims and the executions .
    makes me sad to look at those pictures , but it it important to keep it all in mind ,
