Beck, it was ISO200. I don't think that's colour noise. I think it's the way tarnished copper looks up close. It's not colour all over the map like noise, it's mainly flecks of grey and different shades of red. Possibly, it's some kind of chromatic aberration or diffraction effect. I don't know as I've never used such high magnification optics before.

And very color noisy. What ISO are you shooting, Howard? It looks like a D70 at ISO 1200 or higher.
