Fort Rock

Fort Rock looms in the distance. Many sandals woven of sage were discovered in the caves of Fort Rock... they were carbon dated back about 9000 years... when an ancient lake or sea lapped up against this rock formation. The town of Fort Rock is nothing more than a store and a few houses... but I find a square dance group having a hoe-down at the church. They invite me in for a pancake breakfast. Talk about clashing cultures... loner adventurer mingles with ladies in puffy skirts and men in ugly shirts. Great group of folks and we find lots to talk about.

Soon I'm headed back home, through the mountains and down to the valley. End of another great jaunt with recharged batteries.
