Located SW of Des Moines, Iowa is Madison County. First made famous by Robert James Waller's book and the later movie, 6 bridges remain of 18 that once dotted the country side in this rural Iowa county. The bridges were covered to preserve the large flooring timbers which were more expensive to replace than the lumber used on the sides and roof.
Clint Eastwood played the fictional photographer Robert Kincaid. The book's author was also a photographer of sorts himself.
Here is my attempt to photograph some of these famous bridges.
Wonderful shots. I was through that area last year and got a shot of the Roseman, but the weather was a dull overcast day. I hope to get back again in nicer weather.
