Initially, we didn't think we would need a car, but at the last minute, we decided to rent one (a convertible which was also a good choice). As it turns out, without one, it would have been much difficult, especially given our short schedule.

Also, someone recommended Maui Revealed as a guidebook. Frankly, I didn't like the styling (especially the heading fonts), but the book itself was excellent!
