Walk number 17 from Nadder Valley Walks -- "Eighteen circular walks exploring the diverse countryside of the Nadder Valley", produced by the Tisbury Footpath Club... -- Barford St Martin to Grovely Woods.
Explore an ancient woodland that crowns the ridge dividing the Nadder and Wylye valleys. Grovely was once part of a much larger royal hunting forest, and is steeped in local folklore. The villagers of Barford formerly enjoyed the same forest rights that nearby Wishford celebrates on Oak Apple Day (May 29th).
