Preference of this aphid species on yellow
senescencing birch leaves has been demonstrated in several
studies (e.g. Hajek, A.E., Dahlsten, D.L. 1986. Oecologia 68, 380- 386,
Johnson, S.N. et al. 2003. Ecol. Entomology 28, 533–541, and Holopainen J.K. &
Peltonen, P. 2002. Oikos 99: 184-188.).
