The 1MW Photovoltaic (PV) farm of the Cagayan Electric Power & Light Co. (CEPALCO) is the largest on-grid PV facility that can be found in the developing world.
The output of the facility is exported directly to CEPALCO's distribution system, providing voltage support and clean energy good enough to power the average neeeds of 800 homes.
The facility was built at a cost of $5.3 million and was funded through a grant from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
It occupies 2 ha. of land and is located in Barangay Indahag, Cagayan De Oro in the province of Misamis Oriental in Northern Mindanao.
