The road from Pignon to Cap Haitien is so rutted and un-maintained
that the 30 mile drive takes almost 4 hours, and includes at
least one river crossing. And it's a national highway!! Our trip
there was made more difficult by the "manifestations" in towns along our route,
which included barricades and burning tires at the towns of Dondon, St. Raphael,
and in Cap Haitien itself.

We got there, and got back out three days later, but it was close...
