These are pictures from a two month adventure we took this summer, driving from Houston to Alaska and back. The trip was 11,000 miles round trip and when we got back the steering wheel had grooves in it from where I gripped it all those miles. Each thumbnail picture leads to a gallery of pictures for that trip section.
My boyfriend and I have been wanting to go to Alaska for a very long time. We have decided that driving and taking our time along the way would be best for us.
What advice do you have? Can you give us an insight on about how much it may cost? Or at least how much we should be prepared to spend. Do you have any "must sees" along the way?
Please email us back! Thank you!

What borders must you cross to drive straight thru from Houston to Anchorage? Just Canada or BC also?
I've just started researching this and was looking at Yahoo Maps but it's difficult to tell. From there it says approximately 4,500 miles and 70 hours from Houston to Anchorage.
Any other advice?

My 24 yr old son has a job in Alaska summer 2008 and is considering driving from East Texas to Anchorage. He plans on taking 2 weeks to go up. We have relatives on the west coast so he may come back to Texas that way and come across arizona
What was it like going through Canada? Did your cell phones work? W
