See http://laguardiacornergardens.org/LaGuardia_Corner_Gardens/Welcome.html for more information about LaGuardia Corner Gardens. This amazing and wonderful garden is located at the corner of Bleecker Street and LaGuardia Place in lower Manhattan NYC. It is an oasis for local residents and visitors from all over the world. I am deeply indebted to the gardeners of the many small plots in this garden and hope this gallery will provide more insights into this marvelous community resource.
This garden along with the WSV Sasaki Garden in the block north of this garden is currently being threatened to be destroyed by a NYU skyscraper building project.
On July 25, 2012 the New York City Council voted to support the NYU2031 expansion plan that will destroy this garden, the community's children's playgrounds, park strips, dog run and WSV Sasaki Garden to build a number of skyscrapers in the heart of historic Greenwich Village. Legal options are pending to restrain the NYC Government and NYU from proceeding with their plan.
