This photo was taken a couple of months after I purchased my first digital learners camera during the summer of 2002. The camera had a plastic lens so the photos it produced had a very soft look. I particularly like this photo for this soft look and its contrasting light of the ground, buildings and sky. The accented colors of the UN nation flags bring the photo alive.

Also although the UN has many shortcomings, it is very dear to my heart and mind. I believe it represents our best hope for world peace and prosperity as mandated by its charter and declaration for human rights. Somehow for me, this photo with its changing cloudy sky, bright entrance and solid foundational grounds, symbolically represents a view and mood I have about the great objectives of this world government organization.
