Fulton Fish Market

By daybreak all the seafood is sold to the trade, mostly restaurants and seafood stores. Then the cleanup operation goes into motion. These photos were taken toward the end of the cleanup phase.

Every year it is reported that the market will be moved to the Bronx, but it doesn't happen. This location is much more convenient for the Manhattan trade.

June 2005. The market finally closed and moved to the Bronx. The plans are now to expand the South Street Seaport and East River Park promenade in this area.
