The first year we saw this fellow he had a bad limp.
A year later he was walking so slowly he could barely
keep up with the other males.

Though he could no longer help in the hunt, at night
his roars undoubtedly helped keep other male lions
at bay, making the pride seem better defended than
it actually was.
