My father's barging career

These are not my pictures, but old photographs depicting my fathers barging career at Van Ommeren, a Dutch shipping, barging and petroleum products storage company (currently part of VoPak). His career stretched over the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s, barging on the rivers and canals of The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland. He worked on these ships, a.o.: Krokodil, Tasmania, Alsacia, Aquitania, Vallesia. This gallery is an ongoing effort of slowly scanning and retracing the shooting history and contextual details of the pictures.

Wat mooi wordt dit. Scanning oude (familie)foto's was mijn voornemen voor 2007, maar het is er nog niet van gekomen. Dit inspireert me.
