Thanks for your comments. These lantern photos are my favourite too! To give you an idea of size: The lanterns are positioned on the temple balustrade (gangway) which is at about waist hight. The lanterns themselves are some 40-50 cm tall (16" - 20"). I put the camera on the tripod and focused on the first lantern, then recomposed to include the others. With hindsight I might have used a smaller aperture for more DoF, but the row of fuzzy lamps enhances the sense of scale.

This is a soft, warm and lovely photo. I can't tell much about the scale; however, the lamps look large. I was trying to guess the angle at which you took the picture. The angle helps make the photo so nice. The repeating pattern of the lamps make it interesting. Warm regards.
