Cappichino: pre 1999 to July 2, 2009

Cappichino: pre 1999 to July 2, 2009
When I first moved here Oct 99 I was met with a smiling and curious cat who I named Cappichio. Her colors were that of a Chocolate Latte with the swirls in the milk, dark chocolate, and tan. Her face was marked distinctly with a blond streak on one side and chocolate on the other. She was one of 3 tripletts, the other 2 died the first year I was here. After 7 years of talking to Cappy to no avail, she got very sick, falling and rolling, yet fast enough and smart enough to stay near the stables and escape my approaches. Finally, I caught her in a deep sleep using a fish net. She was very angry, hisses, hits, growls, and calls similar to the mountain lion living 200 yards away.
I took her to the Vet, who recommended she be put asleep. No I Said, she's always looking in the window at night, every morning I go outside and she has climbed the bamboo and is sittling on top of the Chimney overlooking her Kingdom. Lets Treat her. So they did. 10 days at the hospital in intensive care. Two strong shots a day. Never stopping the growling. Finally the vet called and said she was free of congestions, but would require antibiotics now and then, as the chest cold and head cold had breached the sinus cavities into the brain, and she would just fall over without cause or notice. She had to remain inside. Now, the Vet, to give them credit, was an animal rescuer as well, and she loved our cat/horse rescue operations. She charged me $70 for the meds, and nothing for the 10 days of limb risking handling. Thanks so much to them. Cappy came home, very unhappy living in the house. Daily attempts to pet / hold were met with Hits and Hisses ... yet she continued for 19 months to "observe" these humans ... she noticed that the wintertime was alot warmer, and summer was still the same temp .... and after watching all the other "kids" get hugs and kisses, she finally gave in allowing me to touch her tail, then her back, and then finally her ears. She went from HITS & HISSES to HUGS & KISSES, so much that she wanted to sit on my shoulders 24/7 and lick my ears. The past few weeks, she looked out the window frequently. So I moved her to the front porch which is enclosed. She seemed very happy, as she slowly wound down, but always Meowing when I came home and of course she wanted her hugs and kisses. Last night, in her own personal sofa chair on the couch, she passed from the porch, to the freedom of Heaven, to join her sisters, and all her passing friends she met here. She will be missed ... always ... here's to you girl .. may you look over your kingdom and smile with us. Hugs and Kisses baby ....
