Sudhan Gali located at a height of 2134m above sea-level and a short distance from Bagh. This scenic spot also serves as a base camp for those going hiking/trekking to the nearby 3045m high mountain, Ganga Choti. Accommodation in the Govt. Rest House can be booked through the Tourist Board offices in Bagh and Muzaffarabad. Find it on Google Earth (you must have Google Earth installed)

Please do visit www.sgywa.webs.com.For people who want to visit Kashmir no need of any guide just catch bus or hire car from Rawalpindi and you can reach any where you want in Kashmir without any hindrance.Insecurity is not an issue in any place of AJK .Farthest distance of any scenic spot is hardly 8 to 9 hours drive from Rawalpindi.Shortest picnic sites are situated scarcely at 3 to 4 hours drive from Rwp.

This is a great job even greater than contesting election or being governmental member to loot country budget. Mr. Gharib Hanif is doing more wothy job than so called Leaders of AJK who begged chance to serve AJK people but afterward start looting and accomulating wealth. I see a lot of comments about the beauty of AJK and Sudhan Gali but the question is what has any of you done to preserve this beauty and natural wonders of this place?. Has anyone among you done his/her part in saving the beautiful place?. How many of you have properly disposed grabage such has plastic bottles/baghs, papers, etc. How many of you have stopped cutting down trees/killing birds and animals?. How many of you have voted for a politician who cares about this area?. The sad truth is most of you DO NOT care about any of these things because you do not understand and will not understand until it is all gone. I know most of you because I have spent MOST of my life there. Think about it all and start doing your part to save this place otherwise you all will be left with NOTHING but these pictures and some memories.

Sudhan Gali is still one of the most beautiful places on this Earth but soon it will no longer be one of those places as the destruction of its natural beauty continues at a faster pace than ever before. This is all due to carelessness and ignorance of local people and MISMANAGEMENT and POLITICAL CORRUPTION of local POLITICIANS. People in the area have caused irreparable damage to the the natural beauty of area by polluting the environment, destroying forest, killing birds/animals etc. They have repeatedly elected the same, corrupt "politicians" who have been given many, many chances but have done NOTHING to improve the quality of life and to protect natural wonders of in the area. These "politicans" simply DO NOT care. Every election season, they go around begging for votes, making big promises that they will change the lives of people if given ONE MORE chance, that they will bring change if elected so, those who are poor/illiterate/ignorant, without thinking that these corrupt politicians have done nothing for them in the past and will not do anything this time either, will elect them once again and a few of the close friends will receive some benefits but common man will continue to suffer and be neglected. These so-called "politicians", who are in fact a buch of gangs sucking the blood of innocent/poor people. The cycle of LIES,CORRUPTION and PROMISES contiunes with each election and will NEVER stop until YOU, the public, hold them accountable by prosecuting them for corruption and mismanagement YOU ALL need to understand that these corrupt, ignorant politicians are a shame onto AJK WILL NOT CHANGE and DO NOT care about YOU because they are living a comfortable life. They are the same people who are responsible for current state of affairs in Pakistan, which is on the brink of complete collapse due to record-breaking mismanagement and corruption. YOU chose the same party that is currently responsible for record corruption and mismanagement in Pakistan. YOUR loyalties are with single parties and NOT with the country itself. YOU chose to bring this upon YOURSELVES again and again by voting for those who have been tested before. YOU CHOSE your own punishment as it is stated in a Hadith that corrupt leaders are a punishment from God onto the people and from the choices YOU make, it seems just that. May God Give us all the wisdom to make better decisions for ourselves, our family and our communities.

The natural wonders of this beautiful place is being disturbed by illiterate/uneducated people who do not care for anyone but THEMSELVES. Forests are being destroyed mercilessly, trees are cut down and sold for profit, rare and precious bird and animal species are being driven to extinction. There is pollution everywhere due to garbage in every place imaginable. YOU have failed to comprehend the consequences of killing of a single bird, an animal or a tree, which upsets the balance of nature provided by Allah, OUR Creator. YOU ALL responsible for death and destruction of natural wonders in Sudhang Gali, YOU ALL are responsible for deforestation of the area. YOU ALL are responsible for extinction of rare animals and birds that once roamed and forests and skies over Sudhan Gali. YOU ALL will be help responsible on the day of Judgement by Allah, the Creator of ALL THINGS. Educate yourselves and SAVE this gift (Sudhan Gali) fiven to you by Allah, otherwise, you will have left nothing and will all become thing of a forgettable past.

I totally agreed the suggestion and comments of the guest who posted his comments on August 8, 2010. I visited Suddan Ghali last year it was as marvelous as the whole the Kashmir. In my imigine Kashmir is same as a whole and the people are different some are well educated and some are less aware of the things and we would have to accomodute for the same people unless they well awre. Though these pictures are not recent, the places are very beautiful and the landscape in them is fast changing. We all have post comments about how beautiful Sudhan Gali is and invite others to visit these places, etc. But the sad truth is most of us who post comments here (I know almost everyone) claim to be well educated. While there is no doubt that some of us are educated, we have done NOTHING whatsoever to educate others to NOT destroy these places, to NEVER, EVER start forest fires, to NOT cut those rare trees and sell the wood for profit, to NOT ruin places that attract tourists by constructing illegal houses for personal use, to NOT leave harmful trash behind scattered everywhere when visiting a place for picnic or simply hiking. I have yet to know anyone (of the ones that have posted comments here) who has done a thing to save/preserve these magnificent places. We post comments inviting people to visit Sudhan Gali and Ganga Peak yet every year hundreds of people hike up to the peak and leave behind every kind of trash imaginable. How many of us know that it take a plastic bottle 10-12 years to decompose naturally?. Each year hundreds of those are left behind along the hiking trail to Ganga Peak, especially at Ser ground during cricket tournaments. If we are to continue seeing these places as God’s gift to us, must take care of them and not destroy them, we must prove that we did not simply read/memorize books to be called "educated" ones but to apply and spread the knowledge gained through education to make a difference.

I do not believe there is any place on this planet as beautiful as AJK. Some of the pictures are as if someone painted them out of their imagination yet all these are real pictures, real places. Unfortunately, lack of understanding/education has resulted in destruction of these beautiful forest and as a result some of the trees that had been there for hundreds of years, no longer exist and the samall ones will not grow up to be as big as those ones within our life time. To Saeed Ahmed: Salam, I do not think it would be a good idea to go there around this time of year unless you really have no choice. It very cold and looks nothing like pictures you may see on this site because these are from summer times and not winter. Around this time of year, it snows there and usually there is a lot of snow in that area and even without snow it stays cold until late March, early April. So, the best time to visit Sudhan Gali would be from April to late September. Hope this helps.
