Actually I knew the people here. This is no ordinary house. Although there are many modern houses everywhere now, when this house was built it was one of a kind and people from all over used to come and see it. It was a bava in Changpur who had it built in early 1970s. The builder 'mistry Dullah' (Mr Abdulla) made it his life project and in the end it was the best house he ever built. Some said it was the Taj Mahal of Kotli district. After this he was approached by many people to build their houses but I think he just refused and went to Middle East. The bava was very proud of his house and I was part of constrant stream of people who sat in the veranda and drank tea with him. The tea pot was never taken off the heat. He was a very hospitable guy and his legacy lived on with this house. Some years after he passed away, his family demolished this house and moved on. They don't make them like this anymore.
