Western Scrub Jay

Reputed to be one of the smartest animals (not just birds). The Scrub Jay can remember the location of more than 200 food caches, both of it's own, and of other bird's for the purpose of later theft. This was the only bird in Ridgefield smart enough to realize that I was not a threat. Ridgefield NWR, Washington.
