Noank is a wonderful little town that sits on a point SW of Mystic, CT at the foot of the Mystic River where it empties into Long Island Sound / the Atlantic Ocean. Most of the houses were smaller cottages built in the early-mid 1800's, but have been lovingly preserved. Despite its place on the much visited Connecticut coastline, once you are in the village it draws you into its historic charm and makes it easy to just relax.

For boaters, there are marinas and a shipyard, for others a Lobster Shack and a Clam Shack, a small public park, and a wonderful atmosphere. That is about it, but for me at least, that is certainly enough.
