Area of old mills and faded glory. This was the original center of Holyoke, complete with serveral hotels, now gone. The railroad station is no longer in use as there is no passenger service. The area now houses some of the Hispanic residents of the city, although it still has a smattering of light manufacturing, old mills used for non-manufacturing purposes, and distribution warehouses. The warehouse shown with the "bite" taken out was hit by a micro-burst in the storm that folled Springfields now-famous tornado.
