My favorite test subject....Old Town Hall in Easthampton, MA as seen from the top of Mt. Tom about 2.5 miles away....using the AF 300mm F/4 with Kenko Pro 300 2X Telextender. Unfortunately, this test is not as good as it should be since I forgot to take the D300 out of auto-iso mode, and it chose iso640 instead of the intended iso200. Still a modern camera ought to be able to provide a clean iso640 file, and the D300 does not.
