Cuando la virgen de Guadalupe, ni el Señor de Chalma u otros santos no pueden ayudarte, La Santa Muerte y San Judas Tadeo son el último recurso.

Grupos de jóvenes abrazan orgullosos, quizá altaneros y desafiantes, la efigie de San Judas Tadeo en hueso, madera, plástico o yeso; se lo visten, estampado en playeras o en túnica blanca y manto verde, se lo cuelgan de las muñecas o del cuello en escapularios, rosarios y cuentas circulares; se lo tatúan en los brazos y el pecho. Aunque no es clara la práctica de fe, pues en este caso la devoción pareciera encarnarse más en una moda, en una apariencia y actitud ante los otros, el número de concurrentes es enorme. Pero el culto rebasa a la Iglesia, se convierte en la expresión de una naciente contracultura que haya en el símbolo el pretexto para ganar espacios e identidades, para la convivencia y la coincidencia, para hacerse ver, para sentir que sé es y, por qué no, para soportar la marginación, el descontento, la desigualdad, la inseguridad, el desempleo, la crisis económica y emocional, con la esperanza en la divinidad.

When the virgin of Guadalupe or other saints can not help you, The Holy Death and St Judas Tadeo are the last hope.

Groups of young men an women embrace proud, probably arrogant and challenging, St Judas's effigy in bone, wood, plastic or plaster; they dress it, stamped in shirts or in white tunic and green mantle, it is hung of the wrists or of the neck on scapularies, rosaries and circular bracelets; it is tattooed in the arms and the breast. Though the practice of faith is not clear, since in this case the devotion seemed to be personified more in a fashion style or in an appearance and attitude to others, the number of worshippers is enormous. But the worship exceeds to the Church, turns into the expression of a nascent culture that found in the symbol the pretext to earn spaces and identities, for the living together and the coincidence and, why not, to tolerate the marginalization, dissatisfaction, inequality, insecurity, unemployment, the economic and emotional crisis, with the hope in the divinity.
