I almost did a cactus photo yesterday too! neighbors don't have a lot of plants, these are common.. anyway I really like cactus photos and the ladybugs are such a treat!
Guest 17-Mar-2005 11:53

Fantasitic close up. Those little bugs really show up against the green.

Beautifully done....creative eye. I like the angle of the light... excellent shadows give more depth.

I have cactus, and I have ladybugs. I have never had them together and this is a fantastic photo. Voted, too.

Just amazing. Not only 1 but multiple bugs. That's pretty close in Herb.
Guest 17-Mar-2005 03:09

Guest 17-Mar-2005 02:29
Good shot, as usual. Can't say anything that anyone else hasn't already.

The contrasts in this are really interesting. Great macro.
Susanne16-Mar-2005 23:56
You know seeing this macro makes you realize how those ladybucks must see those cactus thingies, dont know what they are called. Those poky thingies must appear huge to them, much how we see trees. great job.
René Gysi16-Mar-2005 23:46
Nice macro with great details.

Ladybirds are the only insects I don't mind touching. I suppose it's 'cause they're so cute.
Guest 16-Mar-2005 21:57
Great detail

Ladybirds, Ladybugs, Ladybeetles. To be treasured for sure. Love this Herb & it has my vote.
Chris16-Mar-2005 21:26
This is nice - why do we call them ladybirds and you call them ladybugs?? Chris
Lee Rudd16-Mar-2005 20:59
WOW indeed! Sharp image (sorry...).

Apparently British ladybirds (bugs) are dying off, if they had this challenge the may die off quicker! I find them fascinating I do admit.
Gary Winters16-Mar-2005 20:40
You do amazing closeups at the business end of a long telephoto. Who needs a macro lens anyway?
Zak16-Mar-2005 20:31
gasp, the poor ladybirds could get pricked! :-o
wow indeed though!
Gayle P. Clement16-Mar-2005 20:29
WOW, Herb!
