Analyzing Anna

We dreamt cookie-dreams yesterday. Well, here’s a different cookie!

In my country Pitbulls are illegal.
It’s the law since 1993. In that year all ‘dangerous dog breeds’ were outlawed in The Netherlands.
You cannot breed, raise or keep a Pitbull any more. The same goes for a Staffordshire Terriër.
Before 1993 there had been several bad incidents with aggressive ‘fighting dogs’
who had wounded humans, and in some cases even killed small children.

Now there’s a big problem with Cookie.
Cookie is Gerrie’s dog. They like each other a lot and Cookie has never caused any problems.
Both ladies live in Groningen city. Police officers saw Gerrie walking Cookie in a city street
last weekend and decided Cookie looked very much like an illegal Pitbull.
So they took Cookie away from Gerrie and locked the dog up in a dog prison.
Gerrie called all her friends for a demonstration at Police HQ.
It ended in a big fight between the police and Gerrie’s friends. It was all over the news.

The latest is that police experts have decided that Cookie really is a Pitbull,
which means she will have to die. The mayor has confirmed this.
Cookie’s friends have announced they’re not going to let that happen.
It’s a bad situation. Where’s the Dutch Animal Party when we need them?

Have a peaceful Thursday,
-Anna
