Saw your gallery of this hike in 2006 was so insprired and decided to do it in 2008 and glad I did. We had much more snow in July, according to the ranger they still had 80% of the snow left in the pass and because of that we were dispatched out of Sheep camp before 6AM due to melting snow. This is a fantastic hike for anyone and the scenery will take your breath away and you can follow in the footsteps of history.

lol this trail was a very tramatizing experience for me! i highly recommend it!! p.s. Watch out for bears!
