Joop's Dog Log - Friday June 25

My human went inside.
He told me to wait.
The human who lives here doesn't care for dogs. I could see what he was thinking:
"hm... a dog, fleas, hair, dirt, unclean, bother..."
My human would only be a few minutes, he said. But I've been here a long time.
What is going on inside? I can't hear anything. No smells either.
Is my human okay? Did he forget I'm here?
Should I howl, scratch, bark, break down the door? What if...
Or should I be patient and wait some more?
I hate this!

Mark the door so you can find it later, then go do some girl-watching!

What is it with you dogs and time, Joop? I PROMISE The Woo I will be back in an hour. Does she believe me? You can see it in her eyes - No. And when I get home, it`s like she acts surprised. Delighted, mind you, but surprised. "Oh, thank goodness! I imagined a car wreck and you lying next to the road, unable to call for help, bleeding to death! Wanting only to get home, to feed us." See? It`s that last line. I think you guys don`t really worry all that much about us. Mostly, you worry that we`re somehow going to forget dinner. As if we ever have! Or could! Wait, Joop. Human said he`d be back? Human will be back. Relax! Life`s too short to worry so much. Now, as far as not letting you in this guy`s house, well, he`s clearly a jerk! Nope! Sorry, no excuses! I swear, I tend not to like people who don`t like dogs, even when I try hard.

"Oh, Joop! I understand you completely! Human time mesure is so incoherent compared to our sense of it! I bet it took FOREVER for your human to leave that anti-dog person´s house. And isn´t it funny when our humans say `let´s go home` when we´re just starting our daily walk?" Flô
"Luciana was flattered when you said there would be lots of human males interested in Luciana´s phone number (which is written on my ID tag). She hopes no `macho latino` gets her number, though :P" Magali

That human does not care for dogs, as you say, but he carries a big dogs`head in the door... and he seems to be staring at you with no friendly eyes! Be patient Joop, I`m sure your human will NEVER forget you! Take care little friend!

If I were I would scratch this door, just to make my mark you know?? But, nice dogs don`t do this do they?? Of course not!! And as I know you are a GREAT dog, you`ll wait for some more and give a bick lick on your human when he gets back... (then, ask him for a cookie... after all, it was you that stood there waiting all this time...)

Hey, Joooop! I would trust my life with you any day. You put your human`s safety and wanting to be with him above EVERYthing. I find this always touches a human`s heart, they love to be loved, that is why they always stock up on cookies and such. We are so good for them! -Sarah.

I`m with you 105%, Joop. I HATE to wait and not know what is going on. It is boring and most of all quite worrisome. I am sure your human came out in short order...but I would have a few words with him about leaving you outside like that. :)) Also, I have a feeling if you scratched that "pristine" door...you would get an earfull from a couple of humans. So, best be patient...hard to do, I know.

Hello Joop and Henk... so late today, but no chance to take a glance and leave a message the whole stocktaking final through. Bosslady came back home late, rain was pouring and the water tubes of the neighbour had holes, so they hat to shut the complete water system of our street for some hours. Went to the pc to pay a visit and the online connection broke down... THIS IS TOO MUCH NOW FOR TODAY!!! Let`s see if the hot water runs already again.... tomorrow is another day with sunny weather for our tennis tournament final..have a good Friday night after your busy day... by the way.. who was first this mornign with the "dog before door"???

waiting is just really hard to do. for all of us, dogs and humans both. Cats seem to wait very easily. Your tail looks especially wonderful and expressive here in this picture.

Joop, you poor thing! If you come to my door I will open it and welcome you in and give you cookies and a lot of hugs! You should never have to wait outside when your human is inside a house. Joop...you are a gem to wait and understand. Did you get cookies when you returned home? Suzy

the pose - perfection. Another great one for sure and the words just cracked me up. Terrible when you go to the home of those who don't much care for the four leggeds.

Poor Joop! He didn't realize you were behind him taking his photo...
I enjoy your little story of the day as well as Joops activities.
