Joop's Dog Log - Dec 19

Yes, it’s a shadow.
My human shot this image with one hand ‘from the hip’ while riding his bicycle
(and trying to keep up with me) on my late afternoon walk (run)
in the big open fields just west of our town.
Look what the low sunlight perspective did to my human’s head!
It’s smaller than mine. Ha!
We both love these rides. My human can release the mental leftovers from work.
And I can really exercise my muscles and my heart and my lungs and my legs and...
...feel so happy!
But you’re right of course. It’s just a dog and a man and a bicycle.

Canon PowerShot G2
1/320s f/4.0 at 7.0mm full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Not just any old shadow, Joop. Look, the picture shows that you`re leading the way for your human. I`m sure you both do like these rides, and your human took a pretty nice picture here!

Well, of course, yr human`s head is smaller than yrs, Joop! Shadows do not lie and we are looking at brain size here. Jeesh! As if there were any comparison! It also appears you have a very large human, Joop, at least if we consider him lengthwise. Would have to be, of course, to keep up with yr gazelle-like speed, yr elephant-like strength and yr camel-like endurance. Come to think of it, he must be pretty special in other ways too, so as to see you for the wonder dog you really are. I mean, these are his words, we read, right? Yr thoughts, undoubtedly, but he translates? I thought so. So he`s pretty cool. Of course, he`d have to be for you to stick by him. Hope you had a great run, Big Dude, and that yr all cookied up and getting that well deserved rest right about now.

Not just fun, but beautiful, too. I really like the reflection off a (ditch?)in the foreground. Do you have to be careful not to jump into the water, Joop?

As nemsodecao`s pets said, mine did too! "We love you, Joop, and it`s not *just* a dog and a man and a bicycle, it`s a happy picture! You are leading the way, he`s is having fun taking your shadow pictures, it is a very *fun* photo! Thank you Joop! Oh, and both of our humans loved it too! The cats didn`t care, but they don`t look at your wonderful flog like we do! We like our cats, but they ARE cats !" Tasha and Tia

hi, joop... my hero! How are you? Hope you get a very big and delicious X-mas`present! Mummy is in Salvador doing her dive lessons. She`ll dive this weekend - shipwreck dive. And, if everything is ok - doing her nitrox exame, 40m under water. The sun is realy shining there. Could you imagine me and you in a place like that? Joop and the sea adventure, rescuing Pelanca from the mysterious ocean... I loved "Nemo" - the disney and pixar film... Any way, Love, Pelanca

Joop, your human is a pinhead. Just kidding. This is a lovely shot. I am jealous, that I could probably not get a shot like this. Did your human have his camera set on motion speed? You and he are so lucky to have each other. I am a cat, named Montana, and I resent the cat slams (tee hee) but I love my mommy and she loves dogs too; so I do. I actually was a dog, but the landlady where my mom lives doesn`t allow dogs, but does allow cats. So I got the same surgeon Michael Jackson got, and people think I am a cat, now.

That is a cool picture, Joop, and I`m sure you understand how much fun it is for humans to "shoot from the hip" and then have the picture turn out to be such a good one. We`ll indulge him, even if his head is small, and tell him that it is a really cool picture. (We all know you`re still the star of this flog.) On the other hand he does take all the pictures of you, and the only one we get to see of him is Mr. Small Head. Haaa haaaa haaa. Maybe you should give him a nice cookie tonight.

Joop, you could never be "just a dog!" And your human is not "just a man." I think during the formation of the universe, waaaaay back, eons ago, you and he were the same molecule that was accidentally split into two parts. It just took a while for the two parts to find each other and join together, making something wonderful :)

Joop, Luke`s cookie jar is getting low -- we need to get some more pretty soon! Don`t worry tho` -- When Luke isn`t getting cookies, his Dad gives him yummy bones to chew! (and YUCK! I just stepped on one with my bare feet!!!)
Good day to you and your master! can`t wait to see your next photo opportunity! (and thank you, dears, my headache IS gone!) :^)

One can almost sense the freezing cold of the Drenthe landscape.
In analogy with one of Plato`s stories the images may be more realistic than reality. This is so remarkable in the human mind by which I see reality, isn`t that a funny metaphore nicely reflected in this picture?
