Joop's Dog Log - Friday Jan 09

I'm not much of a dancer myself,
but hey, dog friends, read this:
A 'dog school' in the town of Haren (not far from my town) offers a new course.
They call it 'Doggie Dancing'.
They imported the idea from England, where it’s a ‘succesfull new dog sport’ (they say).
In ‘Doggie Dancing’ a dog and a human dance together, making steps that go with the dance,
and performing special tricks the human has taught the dog.
No breed necessary, all dogs and humans are welcome to sign up and compete.
The human must be at least 12 years of age. No age limit for dogs.
Doggie Dancing... what do you say.
May I see your votes please?

Gee, we do this all the time in our livingroom. The dogs even have some types of music they prefer. I`d rather they were judged on the beauty of their dancing, rather than human-taught tricks, but it`s probably fun, any way. This is a very handsome pic of you, Joop. How do you feel about dancing witn humans?

Good morning, Joop. I heard from dog dancing. There are many sources in the net about. Without this knowledge I tried it one or two times with Zara in our garden. There was music from the `ghetto blaster` and I was coming with the wood for the campfire and have to make some steps around Zara. She thought I would invite her to a dancing and agreed :) So we did a short campfire dancing :) It was very funny, especially for the rest of our pack.

btw: it is a very proud picture of you, Joop - with a pulled sabre (we like to say in view to your standing tail)

Well, I`ll admit to having twirled a dog or two in my lifetime, but always in the privacy of my own living room. I think I`d feel just a wee bit embarrassed to do so in front of folks, and I know my dogs would too! We`re all a tad shy, don`t ya know. Dancing, like any other physical exercise, I imagine, is good for the body and the soul. You ought to try it sometime, Joop. Might like it! Somehow I cannot see you and yr human on the dancefloor with a crowd of onlookers tho. Hey, maybe I`m wrong!

Oh, forgot to mention - when I go away and leave Harry and The Woo alone, I always leave the CD player going. Keeps them company, I do believe, and they`re less likely to bark unnecessarily. Often I invite them to dance should the spirit move them. I think they just might!

Gosh, Joop, I think the place for most dogs is just right where you are in this photo - checking out the outdoors. I dont think dancing to music is an idea that ever occured to a dog. People can get some animals to do some very strange things. I do like the way your tail is waving and dancing in this photo. My vote? Dog dancing, No. Tail waving, yes!

Joop, I have heard of the dancing dogs, I believe they even have `square dancing` for dogs. There is something called `musical freestyle` which is a routine done to music, sometimes one dog and human, sometimes in groups. I`ve seen it on TV, but not in person. Somehow I don`t think it`s something studly dogs like you or I would be into, but then again, dogs will do (almost) anything to keep their humans happy... Perhaps it is a good way to meet a foxy lady dog????

Haaa haaa haaaaa. That is a great and very funny idea. I think it sounds like a wonderful time. Dogs love their humans and humans love their dogs...and neither is inhibited around the other. So I bet the two together could cut a great rug...so to speak.
What do you think, Joop Henk...going to give it a try?

It`s actually too human to take serious, why not do the reverse and make humans share the dogy like pleasures, such as shared barking choires or following complicated traces in nature. You better invest in taking control of your human fantasies, take control of basic insticts again and let humans enjoy their pleasures..

I dance with my little friend, Kate, sometimes. She is four years old. I did not know it was a sport, though!

I don`t know, Joop. Sometimes my humans try to get me to dance with them ... most of the time I`d rather play tug-o-war or keep-away. But, maybe, if there were treats involved ...

Hello Joop....late, late...we would be surely bored...music? Only church bells and the jingle of the 20.00 Tagesschau on TV..when Bosslady takes her guitar we leave the room...maybe we should find us a child to try some dancing...our human`s backs have to bow too much down.BUT: WE LOVE YOUR DOTTIE PRESENTATION..as always excellent recherche and really prescious frame design....A TEXAS QUEEN!
