The Don Hengel Memorial Sports Classic is a "friendraiser" and fundraiser that celebrates our local athletes and coaches with celebrity guests from around the country. Sponsored by the local chapter of the Notre Dame Monogram Club, former celebrities include: Bobby Gonzalez (Seton Hall), King Rice (UNC), Rudy (ND), Gerry Faust (ND), Roosevelt Bouie (SU), Bobby Campbell (PSU), Tony Rice (ND), Isaiah Kacyvenski (NFL), Wesley Walker (NY Jets), Mike Dunham (NHL), Rich Christian (Pine Valley GC), Walt Patulski (Bills), Justin Tuck (Giants), Mike Schafer (Cornell), Sean Kerins (SU), and Johnny Logan (MLB).
Proceeds are used to benefit local Catholic schools including tuition assistance, bleachers, sound systems, playground equipment and numerous programs at each school.
